Three Rivers Acting Society Has-Beens. It is a name that wears the group's humour proudly: principally over 50, supported by younger cast and crew, and ready to prove that the best acts do not retire.

How a random idea became two sell-out shows
It started with Penny and Mike, a meaningful cause and a community willing to have a go.
August 2025
A pantomime with purpose
Penny Cunliffe wanted to stage a pantomime and raise money for Prostate Cancer UK after Mike had been diagnosed with prostate cancer. People in the local community embraced the idea and TRASH Players was born.
Most members' previous acting experience dated back to school. Together, the group built strong friendships, staged Robin Hood and discovered just how much they enjoy performing.

Penny & Mike Cunliffe
Penny is the group's founder, writer, producer and director. Mike is a founder and cast member. Together they turned a difficult diagnosis into something joyful, generous and enduring.
